Just here for my almost annual check-in, apparently I'm a noob now.

Maybe I am. Have pretty much reached the point where off-loading gear now looks more attractive than buying more kit, getting down to just a couple of amps and guitars because I barely play now. Kinda sad about that, but nothing ever stays the same.

If you make a lot of random posts you can quickly raise your status., at least that’s what I did

No, you have an ABR style bridge. A Nashville one is the one that don't screw directly into the wood. It has a set collar into the wood, then the screw posts, then the bridge.

    ABR:

And wrong Nashville, he is talking about the style of bridge NOT the tuning.

That’s a new one for me then

Great & thanks for all the affirmations & advice.... So, is what I have, the Nashville setup I hear of?

    peace

I have Nashville tuning on one of mine right now. It’s not something I play a lot but it has a place . It’s the octave strings a 12 string would use. As you can see G is the highest string then it goes down for B and E

All of these are Ibanez made.

I would love to have a dedicated guitar room. The kids moved out and I looked at the bedrooms but somehow they’re still storing they’re stuff there.
    Nice setup

  5. My wife caught me looking at guitars and surprised me with a Christmas guitar

I have to take back everything I said about the Riviera. I tried one at GC a while back and was turned away from them. The unit I tried had what I suppose was a small crack from shipping damage. I said no thanks and walked away.

Well now that I have one at home and am getting to know it I love it

It’s flawless and was fairly well set up needing only tuned to start playing.

Frankly it is one sexy guitar . The neck feels good not like some of the older Epi rubber necks . The minibuckers are brighter and the audio taper pots are responsive  . So yeah I’m happy. 0FC092ED-8064-467B-A392-51E1E7A8B0BB.thumb.jpeg.13a54aacf52d5eb3cccce611b5642100.jpeg

So you make the toan / music? The back of the neck on my Epi is glossy so that is a problem. Nothing else about it gets in the way so to me that's good playability. Soundwise it doesn't do buttery and is either bright or way dark. usable but nondescript; probably typical sounds. Can't play enough guitar to get to the subtleties of color and nuance so getting "a good lead tone" is what I look for.

I don’t mind changing the sound of a guitar including upgrading pickups. I don’t buy a guitar with the intention of changing the neck , it’s just not worth the hassle

Also body thickness is important to me. I’m not interested in a thin body Telecaster.

    Welcome

I really can’t help you with the value  But you  may get more responses if you star a new thread. People have a tendency not to read a ten year old thread

  9. Talk about an interesting finish, when I was a teen I had a cheap guitar that I decided to refinish. I looked around the basement and found a can of yellow paint that seemed like it would be a good base coat. Mainly it was an ugly color that I wanted to use up. After I considered the base dry the top coat was applied, gloss black. I was rather proud of myself as I hung it from a pipe to dry. A day or so later I came back to check on it and was rather surprised, the yellow had bled through and the result was like black and green marble. It sort of almost looked good.
I don’t think I ever got around to putting it back together again.

What . No Kyle Busch tribute?

He’s the idiot that smashed a hand made Gibson and one of the reasons I quit watching
