Members humbuckerstrat
I've been using Jazz IIIs lately. Usually I use the red ones because for me they're easier to hold on to than the black Stiffo ones, but sometimes strangely enough I don't have a problem holding on to the black ones and they seem to have a harder attack than the red ones. I like them because as somebody said they're very fast and articulate, due to the small size, thickness and sharpness of the tip. Dunlop now has a "Max Grip Jazz III" and that might help the OP with some of the problems he's having holding on to his picks. I don't see them available in any online stores yet, tho. http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/pip&id=403&pmh=products/picks
Members hellion_213
. I use these when I can't find PickBoy mediums, which I haven't been able to now for a few months ' alt='>'>
Members Ljomar
Dunlop Eric Johnson Signature picks. Not because they makes me sound (or play!) anything like EJ, but they feel a lot better than regular Jazz III picks and have a lot better grip. Members Jersey Jack
This^^^ The Fred Kelley Bumble Bee pick This pick allows me to switch back and forth instantaneously between flat picking and finger picking. I use it on both electric and acoustic, and it is IMHO the best pick for twangy chickin pickin' on the tele.
Members EJD
These I tried a red Stubby once. It snapped clean in half I like around the 0.70mm mark for picks. Not too stiff, and just right for fast picking and strumming
Members squinty
Jim Dunlop .73 or .88mm Nylons for electric.Jim Dunlop .6 (mainly in the studio) or .73 for acoustic.I find them really comfortable.Depending on how much attack and depth you give the pick, you can get from really percussive strums to rigid attack without breaking the strings, picks or carving channels into the guitar. I have used .46 Dunlops in the studio on acoustics for effect as well. I'd be better off blowing on the strings than using them live though. Members eellox
I like the dunlop Ultex. They seem to last the longest for me. I want to try the dunlop ultex sharp, but no store around me has them yet.
Members bartak101
+1 for Ultex. Not too sure about them lasting long, but I've found they give me more control over pick attack/dynamics than the tortex. More grippy too.

Members photon9
I use Cool Pick Jazz Thins 1.0mm. IMO they are the best. They have this sandpaper grip that keeps it where it is supposed to be but is very comfortable... doesn't peel the skin or anything. Whenever I see them I buy them all cuz they're kinda hard to find. I have about 30 right now. Anything else feels like I'm playing with a slick boat oar.
Members prolog
I do a lot of strumming work, and so tend towards the thin - 0.46mm

Members Jokoker
Mainly Jazz III's. However, I've recently switched to Fender tortoise picks and have really been liking the tone. They are a bit thin, though.

Members RifRandall
I use Ultex .73s for acoustic and 1.0s on my electric. They never wear and feel great. I find due to the stiffness of them that you can go thinner than you normally would.
