Members toyloy
Total noob question, I know. Just curious. It's something that I didn't really think about before buying my guitar.
Members Will Chen
I use 2.0 mm Dunlops for electric and the closest I can find in my house to a "Medium" for acoustic.
Members kit_strong
Fender Medium (celluloid, not plastic) is a great all-around pick for starting out. Great tone, and works well for strumming or single note licks. When not using one of my fancy Broddasrd Picks (horn, abalone, etc..) I tend to bounce back and forth between a Fender Medium and a Dunlop Ultex 73 -Kit

Members ashasha
1mm Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz picks. A word of warning, once you try one you can't use another pick.

Members cratz2
I use the pointy black Dunlop Jazz Tortex picks... Jazz III Tortex, maybe. They are 1mm or 1.1mm something like that. I have a bunch more somewhere, but the ones in front of me have the logo worn completely worn off... guess they aren't very fresh. But I'm pretty easy to please in the pick department. Members lp_junkie
Dunlop Nylon Standards in .88mm or 1.0mm, the only pick I have found that I like in 30+ years.
Members ten56gibby
Well played, Dave I use the Everly stars. Feels a little thicker than a Fender medium. Beats dropping picks.
Members ettsn
For electric, I prefer Dunlop Pitch Black jazz 1.0mm.Acoustic, I like Fender medium celluloids in tortoise. For bass, either Dunlop Large thumb picks (easier to swap between pizz and fingerstyle mid-song) or for thumpy rock, Dunlop nylon .88s. Members catalinagooseV2
Dunlop Tortex .73mm. They are the yellow ones. I destroy picks and those ones seem to hold up pretty well.

Members caveman
Lollar picks are made out of thick Forbon bobbin material, have a bite I really like and seem to jump off of the string. The key indentifier mod helps me to control and hold on to 'em.

Yep, this is the winner .88mm Tortex is what I've been using for the last decade or so. Big & comfortable, they don't slip and they're hard to tear up.
