Members mutant_guitar
and connected with my guitar in a way I've never experienced before. It was almost religious. I played better than when I was sober, and was more into the music than I'd ever been before. It was intense and I was super accurate, and when I did make a mistake, it just didn't bother me like it usually does. I had just the magical amount of alcohol to remove my inhibitions and insecurities, but not enough to slop up my playing. I realize now how much my insecurities about my playing hold me back. It was like pure magic. I love alcohol.

Members mrbrown49
Nice! I love when that happens. Usually ends in frustration for me though because the I wonder why I did so good one day, and sound so {censored}ty the rest of the week.

Members boxorox
Sometimes getting alittle loose let's out how good you can be on an instinctive level. Just as long as you don't believe alcohol/whatever was the reason you were better.

Members Ralph onion
Evan and Ezra always do that for me. Two or three shots, neat, sipped with respect, and I am off and mellow and warm and making love to whichever guitar I have out at the time. Members poolshark
It definitely depends on the style of play for me. If I need the hyper-technical shredfest, I'm {censored} after a few drinks. If it's the blooz, pass me another beer.

Members ballhawk
heroin and acid usually work for me. Seriously you have it right, a nip or two is fine but don't go past the magic balance.

Members SDshirtman
If you thought that was cool go drop some acid and lock yourself in a room with your guitar, a loud amp and a delay pedal.

Frets99
most people disagreeing are former alcoholics or are against drinking Not really. Just seen too many people gain "confidence" from alcohol only to find that they were only legends in their own minds.

Members MichaelSaulnier
The more you "break the barrier" between your active brain and your fingers... the more you will have these breakthoughs. Although a drink is a tool for doing this, it's not always reliable... especially if you are at all nervous about your playing situation. But it's fun to "be in the zone"... next time, try recording for posterity! M
