Members 3shiftgtr
Roadwork was a sloppy album, but had a HUGE impact on my playing.....RD is sooo underrated....
Members humbuckerstrat
I'm not gay, but the main reason I got into Johnny Winter was because Rick Derringer looked so cute on the Johnny Winter And.... LP cover
Members humbuckerstrat
Since this is a Ringo thread, I'll post one of my favorite Ringo songs. George Harrison plays lead guitar on this tune, and I love the guitar tone he had at this time, very horn-like. Members humbuckerstrat
Does anybody know who plays lead on Edgar Winter's Keep Playin' That Rock 'n Roll?, is it Rick Derringer or Ronnie Montrose? That lead has always killed me.

Members humbuckerstrat
I always thought it was Montrose. Yeah, I think it was Montrose, too. He was playing lead for Edgar Winter's White Trash when they did In Concert in the early '70s. That's what first turned me onto Ronnie Montrose, and other acts like ABB and Rory Gallagher. Members humbuckerstrat
not to mention how much ass that album kicked(s)! You are forgiven! Yeah, it turned out to be a great album as well, and it made me a big fan of Johnny Winter and Rick Derringer. I recently downloaded "Johnny Winter And....Live" from Napster and that kicks all kinds of butt, too.
Members jtr654
Rick played on and produced that LP.
Members humbuckerstrat
Same backing track, BTW.Interesting, I couldn't see this on my cell phone. I've never heard this version before. Obviously, it was when George was digging the Hare Krishnas.

I didn't know that, but it did seem that EWWT and Johnny Winter And were working closely together at that time.

That lead has always killed me. Derringer produced the album and shared guitar duties on it with Floyd Radford. (Floyd also did some touring with brother Johnny, btw). Could be either, but sounds like Rick tho'.

Members BeanoBoy
Saw Edgar on the last Ringo tour. He tore it up. Saw Rick in Johhny Winter And and as a solo. Diminutive but Burnin' guitarist.
Members humbuckerstrat
Wow, for 35+ years I thought it was Montrose that was doing the solo on KPTR'nR. Derringer is better than I thought he was.
