Members darreno27
After all the internet searching i do for guitars, I've never seen a quilted maple guitar that is dyed white. Is this impossible to do? If not, i would like to see a pic. Thanks
Members NiCkMiLnE
it's be a bit pointless. fact is, to get a top to shine, you dye it black and the softerwood absorbs the dye deeper, so when you sand back, it shows the grain better, then the clean wood is almost white anyway, so there aint much point

Members zac503
If that white was a tad more transparent it wouldbe gorgeus
Members RaVenCAD
Agreed! I've lusted over a translucent white quited top for years, never found one that didn't either look grey or like the one above which is clear coat in the center and solid on the edges. If you find one, lemme know..
Members JC777
I have always wanted a Whiteburst myself.I thought when the Gibson Supreme's hit it would finally be reality. Go figure, it's the only {censored}ing color that's solid.
Members k4df4l
rather than just dye, you could prb achieve something similar to what you want with a heavily bleached maple w/ some white dye...look online for bleached maple pics Edit: there are also other techs like liming that could get close to what you want. Members Belva
It looks like an LP and a Tele got in Brian May's bed and produced an offspring while a 3 pup SG joined in. Very cool.

Members Wyatt
Shovelhead what kind of guitar is that and where can you find one. I wouldn't wait around for an answer. This thread is 4+ years old and IIRC Don/Shovelhead is busy with a self-owned company.
