Members HC Hipster
Always seems like people dont like Gold hardware. Why is that? How about on black?

Members Poster Nutbag
Personally I love gold hardware - has to be on the right guitar though, I think it looks best on natural wood, black, purple or green, in that order. I have heard that some don't like the way gold plating wears over time.. that, and on lower priced parts the gold plating can look chintzy. I'd love to see more hardware offerings in other colors besides the standard black/chrome/gold, like gunmetal, copper patina, etc.
Members maltomario
the only gold hardware i have is on my jackson pc1s. i usually dislike gold but it seems to look 'right' on some guitars, especially ones with nice wood grain. Members lp_junkie
It flakes and rubs off looking like crap, so even on my Les Paul Customs I swap it out for nickel hardware which ages better.
Members GreatDane
there's nothing wrong with gold hardware.
Members Zledi
It looks amazing on Koa 359s. Also looks great on a cherry-burst custom Tele in my opinion.

Members Badside
It looks tacky I can't stand anything with "yellow" gold. Reminds me of the jewelry my aunt wear. It is a deal breaker for me.

It is a deal breaker for me. That's kind of what I meant when I said that cheaper parts can look chintzy - has that costume jewelry look to it. On the other hand, the gold finish on my Sperzels looks like a million $$.

Members guitarman3001
Depends on the guitar. I think it looks great on black or white les pauls. I have a black epi LP custom with gold hardware and I love it.

Members Senor Cleavage
I agree with the others who have stated it looks good on the right guitar. My Les Paul Custom looks classy with it, in my opinion, which is the only one that matters to me.

I agree completely. It looks good on, say, a Steve Vai JEM in white, but looks dreadful on cheap guitars. Observe. The red Ibanez knock-off. Eurgh.
