Members Greg.Coal
AXL website says it's a (rock) maple neck and the pickups are alnico. Somebody buy one, report back - it can be this year's FIrst Act Sheena ... or, was it Lola?
Members JRicoC
The Badwater series has received a lot of good word-of-mouth, but I've not really seen much raving about the Marquees ...

I played one of those at the 2010 winter NAMM. Not the same model but the distressed one (http://www.axlguitars.com/as820wo.html), and it wasn't that bad. Members PunkKitty
I have one of the Marquee Strats. It's not a bad guitar. The stock pickups are decent sounding. It plays well. The fret ends were a bit rough when I got it and the fingerboard was dry. If I was in the market, I'd consider one of the teles.

Members sleepeatplay
I have/had one. The only thing original is the body. I turned it into a Frankenstrat. It's an OK starter guitar. Electronic were noisy, neck was OK, (it's sitting in the closet.) Pickups were microphonic.
