I bought one of those back in the 70's after my Strat was stolen. It was a cherry sunburst with rosewood board and the music store owner gave me a killer deal on it. It was a decent guitar, but I was too much of a Fender player back then and eventually traded it in for a Tele. But its too bad the reissue has the 490/498 pickups. The original L6-S had hot humbuckers with chrome covers and no visible pole pieces that were custom designed for that guitar by Bill Lawrence and made it a bit more distinctive.

The 70's L6S guitars that I played were lifeless Norlin POS.

Wait..............heavy lifeless Norlin POS.

Now for $1600.00+, Henry has resurrected a POS.

Relive the past POS now for more $'s.

What will they reissue next the Gibson Marauder?

I saw one in the for sale forum a few weeks ago and since I'm a big Bill Lawrence fan as well as Gibson lover I was interested. Haven't decided how I feel about it; not sure it covers any ground that I feel I'm lacking.
