They had a used one at GC a while back. It was a toploader with a very thin body and a pale white neck. Very cheap tuners. But it did play well. However, an SX would be miles better.

Go back to 9s. Adjust the knobs on both guitar and amp. Plenty of players with thick tone use light strings (Billy Gibbons). This. A 10 is pretty much a 10 so changing brands will just be throwing good money after bad.

I wouldnt give it out. Why would he need it? Another note- I sold about 200 guitars on ebay over a span of 2 years. I used to get this question all the time. Never once did the person asking this buy a guitar. There is a certain segment of "time-wasters" on ebay who agonize over every move they make and then cant even pull the trigger on a purchase.

Anyone, and I mean anyone, who sells their item on ebay these days at a start of .99 cents and no reserve is costing themselves. Items are bringing nothing on ebay unless the buyer is adhering to a buy it now- best offer auction, which allows you to somewhat control your sales price. Ebay traffic is down so low that virtually no one will follow an auction for a week, which ensures few bidders and the fact that you are going to give your item away in an auction. I dont think ebay will even exist 3 years from now.

They came out in the mid 70's, I subscribed to Guitar Player magazine at that time and it was big news. In fact, it seemed so far fetched that some famous players refused to believe it worked (sort of like space travel). Ace Frehley got electrocuted and started using one and that seemed to get the word out so others would follow suit.
