A well done burst is a work of art. A poorly done burst is {censored}.

 

 

This is a good point. Rickenbacker went through a period of producing some extremely gaudy bursts, but the person who applies the burst now is excellent, and the bursts are beautiful now.

I'm not a massive fan of sunburst generally, but most other bursts I don't have a massive problem with most of the time (love my blue burst Les Paul)

Fireglo on the other hand, sits with me just fine.

I think ya'll should visit reranch ASAP. They may be able to help you take care of the mismatched paint ;)

 

Also, don't be afraid to let them sit in the sun....nothing more glorious than a burst that fades to amber/honey :)

I hate bursts in general about as much as red guitars. For me the only way I break this rule is when the sound coming from the instrument is absolutely glorious. Well, and Silverburst, but I don't think that counts really. :lol: Currently, I've got one burst that is a G&L LB100 bass. Oh, and a red burst Dano baritone that I can only play with my eyes closed. Ha!
