Why you hate him so much? Bandwagon hatred? I don't hate him at all. I was making fun of OP, whose commentary on that interview read a whole lot different than the interview I saw.

He totally should have given one word answers to everything. Would have been nice if he'd smashed his guitar for the camera too. Actually, he should have doused himself in gas and lit a match.

I know nothing about Mayer, never listen to his music. But he doesn't strike me as especially douchey. His guitar is recognizable, so what? Even I recognize that guitar after having seen it a few times - beat up black strat that wears it well, sweeeeet.

Pick: 1) That's the nicest Tele I've ever seen. 2) That's the only nice Tele I've ever seen. Both are true.

I saw Steel Panther last week. Anybody who doubts Satchel needs to get their head checked. That dude's the real deal and a nice guy (met him before the show).

There were several set-neck Ibanez LP ripoffs that were actually good guitars. The bolt-neck ones are extremely hit and miss and, even in the case of a good one, not worth more than $250.

Are you pushing down (towards the body of the guitar) when you go to pull the d-tuna out? I know mine always felt like it was binding if I didn't do that.

I played a whole ass-load of used Gibson LP's before (and since) getting mine and they were 90% solid/swiss-cheese guitars. Apart from one lady-LP - it was a metallic pink Les Paul Custom that had mini-hums and was a bit thinner than a normal one - I didn't like any as much as mine. Of course, mine might not sound very much like a typical Les Paul. All I know for sure is that it gives me what I'm looking for when I want a guitar that sounds like a Les Paul.

Obliterated in what way? They look okay to my (clueless) eyes. They look quite low to me. I've got a strat with frets in similar condition and it isn't all that good to play.

The frets look obliterated on that guitar. Don't bother offering anything.
