Members James Hetfield Acne Scars
It was so filthy it was pathetic, but I gave it a semi good cleaning. I bought it at a garage sale for 20 bucks. It has some pretty good Kluson tuners on it so i figured it was at least worth it for that. Anyone know what it is? Is it just a chinese piece of crap? Looks like someone removed the logo on the headstock somehow. It also has a wooden bridge which i forgot to add in the photo.

Actually they called it the "Value Leader" line available in 1,2, or 3 p/ups.....Hit this page and scroll down thru the 1962 Kay catalog: http://kingofkays.com/1962-catalog/

Members Verne Andru
Yeah, that's an old Kay. You can always tell Tiesco by their very distinctively {censored}ty tuning machines.

Members elsupermanny14
I don't think James Hetfield's facial scars are from acne. There was a pyrotechnic miscue during one of their concerts that lit part him on fire and burned his face, neck, body, and arm. Not a big Metallica fan, but I'm pretty sure that's the story behind his facial scars.

Members GomezAddams1
Yeah, looks like an old Teisco of some sort. All the Teiscos I've seen have zero frets, but I'm far from a Teisco expert.

Members JoeBoy
That thing is a work of art. If you can't make it a player, display her.
Members Alan Roberts
That thing is awesome - especially for $20. It is indeed an old Kay as several others have pointed out. I hope you get it up and running. If the neck is in real bad shape you can always make a slide guitar out of it, but usually those things have a pretty thick neck on 'em and they're pretty solid. Congratulations!
Members thatsbunk
back in 1962 $110 was a lot of scratch... i wonder what a strat cost new that year.

Members ashtray
That's a score! Probably worth something to a collector - check eBay, etc. Clean it up, string it up, and have some fun with that. Slide guitar if nothing else.
