As a few other people have said I think an option where people can save their licks to a database could make it into a really useful learning tool. If a database is possible maybe have an option were people can rate their licks as beginner, intermediate, advanced? Adds a bit of social'ness to the site.Can you put the URL of the lick under it, so it can be copied easily? Maybe if you click on the lick it will show the "sharing options" (like when you finish a lick)?Sorry - don't mean to load you up with work! No problem, that makes sense! Still have a lot more features to add, but this was a quick and easy one. The Latest Licks page is fun too, but sometimes people just enter in junk while they're getting a feel for the site. The Most Viewed page should usually have good licks in it because they're the ones people bothered to share on forums or Twitter. Getting traction on Twitter is unbelievably difficult. I guess most people use Twitter from their phones, so maybe it isn't the ideal place for sharing licks, who knows? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So I'm not really missing out on any real money yet. I'll put Google ads on if/when the site gets popular. Better yet, get a more permanent sponsor like GuitarFetish or someone like that. Signing in will be optional. I originally didn't want to do this at all, but it will enable so many cool features. One of which I'm considering is the ability to tag the lick with your username on the bottom-left corner. What do you guys think of embedding the username in the image? Good idea? Bad? To me it just seems like a random web fad. But again, maybe I just don't get it. What I've learned is that it's different things to different people. Hard to describe, but it can be like a mini-RSS feed, broadcast texting to your friends, celebrities use it like a soapbox, etc. It even changes depending on how many people you follow. 15 or so can be fun and useful if they're the right ones, and you usually read all of the posts. That way if you come across a lick you like, you can go find that username on tinylick and check out their other stuff. It should probably be optional. I still have to add the username to the image, and create user-pages for sharing, but we're getting there! Please give it a shot and let me know if you run into any bugs! TinyLick died a long time ago, and when the domain expired it was bought by a porn site. BUT, I just stumbled across this site that is very similar: http://vexflow.com The editor isn't as nice IMO, and they made *no* effort to make the image links tiny. But it's not bad.
