Songs about a baby

A friend is going to have a baby and my (very) occasional band is going to get together to record a few songs in celebration.

So far, for some strange reasons, my suggestions (Ramones: Beat on the brat; Damned: Drinking about my baby) are not proving popular

Does anyone have any ideas?

Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely"

Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely, made from love

Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
Through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely, made from love

Isn't she lovely
Life and love are the same
Life is Aisha
The meaning of her name
Londie, it could have not been done
Without you who conceived the one
That's so very lovely, made from love

FYI, "Aisha" is the baby daughter's name, "Londie" is the mom, so you might want to change the names to match your situation. There's also Paul Anka's "Having My Baby" considered to be one of the worst pop songs of the 70s. :catlol:

I guess Alice Cooper's "Dead Babies" is out of the question? :catmad:

Seriously though:

John Sebastian's "Younger Generation"

Why must every generation think they're folks are square?
And no matter where their heads are, they know moms ain't there.
Cause' I swore when I was small, that I'd remember when,
I knew what's wrong with them, that I was smaller than.

Determined to remember all the cardinal rules.
Like, sunshowers are legal grounds, for cutting school.
I know I have forgotten maybe one or two.
And I hope that I recall them all before the baby's due.
And I'll know he'll have a question or two.

Like, hey pop. Can I go ride my zoom?
It goes two hundred miles an hour, suspended on balloons.
And can I put a droplet of this new stuff on my tounge?
And imagine puffing dragons, while you sit and wreck your'e lungs.
And I must me permissive, understanding of the younger generation.

And then I'll know that all I've learned, my kid assumes.
And all my deepest worries must be his cartoons.
And still I'll try to tell him all the things I've done,
relating to what he can do when he becomes a man.
And still he'll stick his fingers in the fan.

And hey pop, my girlfriend's only three.
She's got her own videophone,
and she's taking LSD.
And now that were best friends, she want's to give a bit to me.
But whats the matter daddy? How come your'e turning green?
Can it be that you can't live up to your dreams?

i'd heard this song before but only listened to the lyrics this morning, and it's about a baby but from a dad's point of view.

edit: i hadn't listened close enough, it's about a miscarraige. Please ignore this song, eek.
