thanks!

the first one yeah, the tiny is on 1 with the gain on 7 with the tone on 6, the tubescreamer is on full level with the gain on 4 and the tone at noon

I havent gigged since a high school talent show 15 years ago (my skate punk band played enter sandman lol I was in a Hammett phase that ended the band) and I quit playing for about 9 years in between
:freak:

sounds like me - I started playing when I was 19, in 1987. I quit after a few years when I had to sell my 1986 Gibson SG to make the rent in 90 or 91...

I started back up about 5 years ago, and have been having a blast ever since.

Alright doods I recorded a clip with my laptop mic Melody Maker > Tubescreamer boosting > Tiny Terror > laptop mic > garageband

this is the first clip I've ever put up so I am prepared for execution
:freak:
its a bit of the satanic rites of drugula riff, though I'm only tuned to C#

oh and heres some noodling I did the other day- SG tuned to C into garageband direct with the "grunge" model and some effects

ok im done clipping I feel embarrassed
:o

nothing to be embarassed about - recording oneself is a GREAT way to improve.

I remember the very first time I recorded myself, I was literally shocked at how sloppy it was!:cry: But I can now listen back and see that I have gotten better...

am I the only one that plays worse when the red light comes on? no {censored}, seriously i make way more mistakes than just sitting around surfin and playing

I'm actually the opposite. I play my best under pressure. I dig it when the chips are down and it's on the line.

hehehehe I think we all do... the other day I was gonna video record a Marshall tone on my Behringer V-Ampire 1x12 combo, and for a full 5 minutes I completely forgot how to play Judas Priest's "Hot Rockin'"... I have an original song that has a similar opening riff in A, and I kept playing that instead!

Haha I have done something similair once, I wanted to record this new riff I had written to show a friend but I had just learnt a Danzig song and I kept playing my riff in the rythm of the Danzig song, despite them not being all that similair.

Weekend Doom Jam:

Heck, I'll throw out one of ours for grins :D -- maybe give us some inspiration for it. We have bass and lyrics for it and one of our many drummers has written drums for it, sounds great when its all together, but that is freaking rare as most of you know!

Its an older demo I recorded, so its played kind of fast and the tone isn't as fuzzed as I prefer, but it'll work for fun. With these drums, it makes a little more metal. It's in standard D tuning. Pretty much played in what would be E if the guitar was in regular tuning (hell don't ask me to translate, I guess that would be in the key of D since its just down a full step). I've only been playing guitar for 31 years, you would think I'd know that kind of stuff! You would think I'd know how to play as well!

Have at it if your willing. I'll try to work on a few other more appropriate doomy things for future jams later. I also have a version of this with no drums, it's the second link.

Wow, not sure what to say rock lobster. Setzer is cool and can play but about as far from doom/stoner as possible. Might want to start at the beginning of the thread and look into some of the bands posted and watch some of the videos.

And metal, hmmm... Well doom/sludge/stoner is a sub classification of metal I suppose. My bass player and I had this conversation the other night in fact. We threw out one of our favorite songs that we wrote (or at least back burnered it for later re-working once WE GET FLIPPIN DUMMER) because it was too metal.

Had a very productive home recording session today. I recorded three songs, two I had worked out, this one was a first take on all instruments. I woke up with it in my head, seems it was placed there last night.

I didn't mix the other two yet, and I'm going drinking now. I have an 18 pack of Guiness Pub cans to kill.:rawk:

Here's some photos of the set up today.
