Anyone that calls people that attend the Tea Parties a "teabagger" is a {censored}ing idiot piece of {censored} with a whore for a mother. In other words, a {censored} for {censored} worthless asshole that hates freedom. To wit, a liberal.

Socialism is an economic philosophy, not a political one. Most Libertarians have no problem with many publicly funded projects such as roads, parks and schools. Public Contractors build most of these so its hardly 'socialist' to use them like the author says.

It's the disillusioned liberals like the one who created this "Purity Pledge" who will get a rude awakening in 2010, when their Utopian wishes will be dashed by the mid-terms. At that point, they will be walking in the streets dazed and confused, mistaken as the retarded offspring of a zombie invasion.

Dude, seriously, theres a difference between "socialist" and "socialized"

Lets look at the medicine issue: Great Britain and Canada both have socialized medicine. Im not saying its a great system but their governments completely pays for it, and I wouldnt call either one communist

The other option that we have is to keep raising the insurance rates of everybody, like they already arent sky-high as it is.... Its getting to the point that I work just for the insurance, and I need it with two little ones, and my take-home is nowhere near what it should be without it

I usually find that the ones that complain about socialized medicine arent the ones with family insurance plans

If we call socialized medicine 'communist', then - no - I dont want it, but what other options are there?

Mind you, I have not heavily researched either side of this issue enough to firmly stand ground on a position... BUT. If there are problems with the current system, ie. high costs or inefficiency, a 100% overhaul and complete shifting of control in the healthcare system does not necessarily have to be the answer.

You are 100% correct.

If high costs or inefficiencies were the actual issues (rather than the smokescreens used for political debate), then the proposed plan(s) would be worthless. The real issue is a policy movement for insuring everyone and revising regulations of the health insurance industry. Shifting the insurance burden (in part) to the government will do little to nothing to reduce costs/inefficiencies. It is all a policy play.
