Members MrHarryReems
I had the opportunity to jam with a harmonium player last week. Very similar instrument.
Members TheForkWigger
Can accordians make the long, sustained sounds like this? [video=youtube;rM9gKJbDCOA]
Members MrHarryReems
I certainly don't see why not. It's essentially a bellows, and as long as there is pressure, there is air to move across the reeds.
Members Music Bird
I wish I knew piano accordion, I know it’s still popular in Mexico, Brazil, Central America, Argentina, and Malaysia. here’s some Malay examples For now, I use keyboard patches as an accordion sound, but it sounds static without volume control. Members Etienne Rambert
I am an accordion player' date=' and it is a beautiful instrument. It really carries the stigma of being a "polka" instrument even though there are a lot of other styles of music that can be played. I personally hate polka, so this is a bit discouraging. Anybody else noticed this?[/quote']Agree they are beautiful sounding instruments - very evocative and full of nostalgia. No need to come back. They are still here. Cajun dance music and esp., French / Italian music.Play that stuff and make beautiful music. To hell w/ what American market wants. Members williegoat
Zydeco, Tejano, Klezmer, all great sounds that use accordions. I have been listening to a lot of BGKO lately, great stuff. Members steve104c
Back in 2015, my wife bought me a Cajun accordion. Diatonic. Push, one note. Pull another note. Much like the harmonica. Love it.
