Members gardo
I happened by this on YouTube today. It seems to be matte black over burst. Interesting concept and great result here’s the video Edited November 20, 2021 by gardo
Moderators daddymack Posted November 21, 2021 Moderators Share Posted November 21, 2021 ah, I'm a Troglodyte, too... the Gibson mod shop does a lot of interesting [and occasionally stupid] things to their 'leftovers'.

He’s the idiot that smashed a hand made Gibson and one of the reasons I quit watching

And their heirs will find it when they are gone and think, 'let's put it on Reverb.com....' One of the truths of a free market is there is a buyer for everything, you just have to find them. Uhhhh, would you believe.... 2 grand? 1999 Gibson Custom Shop Gibson Rocks America NASCAR Les Paul Junior – Jimmy's Vintage Music (jimmysvintagemusic.com) I've played it. It's an incredibly nice playing guitar IF you don't look at it.

Members Mikeo
My Gibson F5G Mandolin came from the Gibson show room. David Harvey there chief mandolin player picked it of for me, after I had issues with the top on my original purchased one. I can't thank Dave enough. Love the Burgundy Mist color on the SG. not much the tail piece.
Members gardo
Talk about an interesting finish, when I was a teen I had a cheap guitar that I decided to refinish. I looked around the basement and found a can of yellow paint that seemed like it would be a good base coat. Mainly it was an ugly color that I wanted to use up. After I considered the base dry the top coat was applied, gloss black. I was rather proud of myself as I hung it from a pipe to dry. A day or so later I came back to check on it and was rather surprised, the yellow had bled through and the result was like black and green marble. It sort of almost looked good. I don’t think I ever got around to putting it back together again.
