Members champloo22
my input jack nut fell off so i bought the fender replacement nut hex 3/8-32x3/32 TK NI. It was supposed to fit for my fender affinity strat but it was too small. So what sizes should i buy for a guaranteed. fit http://imgur.com/wpMSg24 What it currently looks like without the nut. Members thatsbunk
My guess is that it's probably a metric thread; http://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Parts/Nuts_and_Washers/Metric_Mounting_Nuts.html The original jack is probably crappy though... I'd just replace the whole thing with a switchcraft jack http://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_Electronics/Components_and_Parts/Jacks/Switchcraft_Output_Jack.html
Members Grant Harding
I'm with thatsbunk - upgrade the whole switch to a switchcraft - it's not expensive.
Members WRGKMC
Yes, there are metric and inch. The Affinity has all metric parts. There are a couple of different sizes to the outer nuts but the threads for the metric and inch are essentially the same

Yes, you'll need to solder to do it, but as thatsbunk said, most of the electronic parts in those Squiers aren't the highest quality, so in your shoes, replacing the entire thing is the option I'd pick. Members DeepEnd
If there's a music store near you, take the guitar in and let them find a nut that fits. They'll probably have a bin of them and it will just be a matter of finding one that fits.

Members speakerjones
FWIW, it's an output jack, not input.

Members MarvelUndies
Gonna agree with everyone else, just to reinforce their suggestion. Replacing the output socket, at the very least, can't hurt. Plus it's always good soldering practice. If a pro part seems a little expensive/excessive for an Affinity, I recommend buying sockets on eBay. They usually come in bulk packs for next to nothing and, as a bonus, come with all nuts and washers supplied. And before I forget: Welcome to the forum! We'd all love to see some more photos of your Strat. Been meaning to whack my collection up too, which also contains a 2003 Affinity Strat!
