Anyways, I'll look arround and see if i have anything else to donate. They are doing the raffle where you bid your raffel to what pedal you want to bid toward. It's not an all at once deal. The idea is to make it affordable for people to by a ticket and raise the most money. Last I checked they are still working out the specifics. Thanks Brian. Members Donner Posted September 3, 2005 Members Share Posted September 3, 2005 Hi,Well at least I got my profile updated finally - guess thats why I couldnt get emaill notification !!!Ill answer what ever questions I can....Good eye Zack....It will go to one of the 4 mentioned - I was just going to go with the Red Cross and still may, but a few alternatives were suggested and Im considering them,,, the Paypal/United Way 'no fee' one popped up at the last mintue, when I was getting the opening ready...........So either Red Cross,Save the Children,Mercy Corps or United Way --- Im also consideringg sending each weeks proceeds to a different one........~~~And there are a couple ways to enter - YOU can donate to one of the charities directly and send me the reciept with your raffle preferences...You can paypal me direct and state your preference in the reciept Paypal sends to us both....a couple people asked what to do as they didnt have a Paypal account , and I agreed to accept Postal Money orders if they just didnt have any other way......I went for mostly raffles this time for a few reasons - from the Tsunami auctions I learned a few things, mostly that many people didnt even try as most of the auctions went pretty high, so this way it gives people who cant pay $400 for a pedal, but would like a chance at one for $25, and potentially there could be alot more money donated this way too, tho I dont know how it will turn out......So Im trying something new it was suggested to me and has real potential so we shall see....... and there will also be some good ole ebay auctions for the folks that prefer to fight it out that way........So join in if you like and if I can answer any more question dont be shy........... and Im still open to alternatives, if you have any ideas........ Members Donner Posted September 4, 2005 Members Share Posted September 4, 2005 Houston we have a problem.........Its been brought to my attention that:Apparantly 'Raffles' are a form of gambling and arent legal for private citizens without gambling liscense even if its for charity........Long story short.... the raffles are dead....all items will now be going to Auctions like before...I will figure out t he best way to return the donations already sent in, and you can use them towards the auctions if you like , or if you just want me to go ahead and give them to the Red Cross anyway let me know,,,,,,as soon as I figure out t he details Ill have more info.....Huge Apology - Obviously dont send any more donations to me.....
