Most amps are way over-priced and over-rated, except the Bogner Shiva, Egnater Renegade and the Mesa Express line. They may actually be worth the money. My personal best pedal discovery has been Barber effects. Never give more than $1500 for a guitar. Practice and good lessons (most teachers suck around here) are the most important things you will ever do when learning to play the guitar. Mine gets buried in the mix a lot easier than my big box DMM, but I don't really expect the same thing, for the price. Other than that, and it being hard to turn the knobs with my foot, I like it pretty well. It's not perfect, but I wonder what's struck you as so terrible about it. People buy Jazzmasters/Jaguars for their looks/indie credibility, rather than playability/sound. The Hot Rod Deluxe is actually quite good. Members FlyGuy10 Posted January 1, 2010 Members Share Posted January 1, 2010 I use three Boss pedals and a EB volume pedal and I'm pretty sure my tone is awesome...I don't care how much tone you think their buffered bypasses suck, you're wrong, or just hearing things. True bypass isn't all it's cracked up to be. Paying more than $200 for a pedal is idiotic (I might make an exception for the DMM...maybe). Jaguars are ugly. FACT: G&L's are better than Fenders.
