Not to mention that things just change and aren't the same--I know that my Big Muff that i'd modded the hell out of, the bias works totally different with an adaptor than it does a battery, it was like I had to re-learn the sweet spot on the bias. Racks are more reliable and predictable in their behaviour, but they're usually just too sterile and linear. I like how germanium transistors and old beat up analog pedals don't behave properly.
