BOTB - did you vote for your own board?

i did, but looking at the people in my category i was in the minority, everyone else but one voted for someone else's.

 

so what's the etiquette here? is it polite to not vote for one's own board? or is it prudent to cast a vote for yourself in case it comes to a tie?

I didn't enter this year, but in past years, I've voted for other boards. Not purely out of modesty, it's usually that other people have better boards.

I voted for you in Budget Board. I was gonna be kicking myself pretty hard if I wound up losing by one or two votes and it was that close for awhile.

No - I don't think I'd have voted for my own even if I felt it was the best, or whatever, but in group 5 of the medium board, I'd vote for most of the others ahead of my own. Robjrussell got my vote early on; turns out he hardly needed it. Great board.

I'm in a "display only", non-voting, prize ineligible category. Not only that, but due to flooding beyond my control, I didn't have time or dry floorspace enough to get new pics taken for this year's BOTB, so I only just now uploaded last year's pic - it's almost exactly what they look like now, with only a couple of minor changes / additions...

So no I didn't vote for my board, nor did I vote for anyone in my category. No one did.
