Members RoboPimp
yeah, it's a small amp but it's got a pretty stout output. and you know we're not scared to get loud

Members tronus
Sometimes I want more than 30/40 watt amps. When I get to jamming with the guys and everyone gets loud, I just feel like I'd be a lot punchier, along with being louder, if I had 50-100 watts. I like to keep my amps in that sweet spot but that sweet spot goes to {censored} when the band is louder than that range and I have to turn up past it (which is also fun, but in a different way)... I figured extra wattage would give me more dynamic room or whatever. What say yee?
Members reprove
Those old Boogies have a feel all their own. Deep, even for an open back. I feel the same way though, last few months have been spent using 5 -12 watt amps. My Rivera just sits there with this pissed off girlfriend look on its face. I say yay...

I wonder if that's why I see so many jam groups (Phish, Strange Arrangement, Great American Taxi) using Mesa's... They are always those 1x12 combos and they are always keeping up just fine and sound awesome.
Phil O'Keefe
The biggest Boogie I've ever owned was 60W; and that was plenty for me. Simul-Class and 100W versions are ungodly loud. If you have the need for that kind of juice, they're great amps - especially the MkIIb.
Members misterstomach
that looks like a mark iic. is it? that's a sweet {censored}in amp. i used to have a mark iii. there's something about the way they're voiced or something. mine was 85 watts and it was much louder than the other 120 watt head i had at the time. i love the simul class too. Members Pewtershmit
High wattage amps sound beastly. They're tight and aggressive and the attack is so delicious. Those simulclass bitches are indeed ungodly loud. My Mark IV I had for a short time was uncomfortably loud in the small jam space.
Members soulsonic
I recently got a 160w 2x12 combo... a very vintage Peavey Mace. It sounded kinda ass, but then I modded the hell out of and adjusted the bias way hotter and it sounds great now. And it's like the loudest thing ever and it helps my car keep traction in the snow when it's in the trunk.
Members RoboPimp
160 watts, now we're talkin!! my boogie triple recto is 150 and damn it feels good man I must say it did feel good to open that amp up on saturday night and play just a little too loud at the gig. well, way too loud probably... we did a cover of war pigs
Members RoboPimp
oh the amp is a mark IIB it's not the "holy grail" C+ but it's damn fine sounding, sits really well in a live mix and mics up really well. I dunno if the hardwood/wicker have anything to do with it but it does have a very dense, solid, cutting sound. the ability to mix different power tubes is cool, I've used 6L6s, EL34s and KT66s in there, next I think I am gunna try 6V6s. Members Expressway to yr Skull
There's nothing like the feeling that you can kick everyone in the ballz with sheer volume. I discovered that when I had my Matamp
Members Aether24
I decided plugging my deville into a second 4x10 was a good idea not that long ago. The ringing has not stopped since. No more high wattage amps for me. Although it still sits there. Lookin' cool.
Members Bobby D
i feel you. i am sick of playing 12, 15, 20 watt amps right now. i want a 100 watt head and 4x12 the DT-50 is helping me, at least it's 50 watts with 2 EL-34s.....it gets pretty loud and mean
Members lolque?
I love my v4, but sometimes it's just too much of an effort to lug that thing around wit ANY cab. Might be looking to get rid of it soon for a DRRI or something. Want dibs SAL?
Members Fender&EHX4ever
Unless im playing a venue that needs to reach 1000+ people, i dont ever want to play with a guitarist who needs more than about 50w. Been there, done that, and will probably need a hearing aid at the age of 50 because of it.
Members bruto
Nice! I love Boogie amps. Got one on my short list. I used to own a Peavey Heritage VTX - solid state pre and 4 6L6s for power. Man, was it loud! It weighed about 80 lbs, and I just got tired of lugging it around. I'm using a Epiphone Valve Jr cab and head now.
Members ollenorin
i fire up my hiwatt dr103 -72 here and there and it has a superthumpy and punchy sound....cant get that with lower wattage. i would die if i cranked it so i stay away from that.
