Members hangwire
i was sick with the flu at the time. it wasn't the movies fault. i don't like overdubs, much more prefer subtitles. The one I have always seen is subtitled... how bad was that flu j/k - I am sure there is an overdub japan version... i think netflix has the original subtitled one as an instant play

Members Wulver
^ that looks cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjJUHCPKyak Yep. Really unique set of films, actually. If any giant monster film gets remade in the next decade or so, i want it so bad to be this one. The vid is a trailer from the old DVDs, shows bits of all three films. Members cobalt-60
Thanks for the recommendations, guys, keep me comin'. I haven't seen most of these, and outside Kurosawa and German Expressionism, I haven't seen many "serious" foreign films. They all look great. Robocop That's one of my favorite movies, actually. It's Death Wish for liberals.

Members onyxrhino
you know what's kind of racist?..when someone asks for a movie recommendation based on their love of Akira Kurosawa, and people start recommending godzilla flicks. Members Moustache_Bash
Have you seen Aronofsky's The Fountain?I just watched this in my sociology of death & dying class. It's a good film. Although, I don't think it really fits the OP's description. Not really a whole lot of blood, and Hugh Jackman isn't exactly being manly...well, at least not in the stereotypical way.Everybody should still check it out, though.
