Members six acre lake
Aside from a vintage aesthetic what's the deal with these coily cables? I don't get it. Less cable = better sound. A 10 - 15 footer should be more then enough... Unless you run around the venue ala Oxes / Van Halen... In which case go wireless.
Members Jenesis
I heard coily cables add mids.
Members Loobs
Lava one looks cool. I'm buying it purely because they look {censored}ing cool. And they do, so {censored} you.

Members Cirrus
Why tape over the Marshall logos? Because if he were famous, people might care what kind of gear he uses and he doesn't want the fans he'd have if he were famous to think he's endorsing Marshall. Members christianatl
I have a super treble-y guitar and a super clean amp, so I like the attenuation that I get with a coiled cable.
Members coloringpad
Coily cables only make your tone better if they match your guitar finish. Also, electric signals get all dizzy travelling in tight circles. Also, my coffee tastes better in my penguin mug. Fact.
Members Bricks & Bones
Sigh. I'm sorry. Can't help it. You know I'm down with you. Even if you did move on from crushing beans for a living.
Members christianatl
Yeah, I just couldn't keep touring and working there. Working with SAL now, and it's enough money to take off a month here and there for writing, recording and touring. I do miss coffee though. Members Philippe_CGC
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I have it on good authority from a number of industry observers that coily cords do not, in fact, actually ADD mids; what people are hearing is the attenuation of treble frequencies and the perceived resonant peak therefore is pushed down into the midrange. Just thought you'd like to know.
Members IRG
Yep, that's what people say.I have a Bullet coily cable, but honestly can't hear the difference between it and whatever cable I was using before. Same here. Mine has been great. I recently took it out, and used a higher end cable (not coily) to compare directly to the Bullet. I couldn't hear any difference. So I went back to the Bullet because I love how it doesn't get all tangled up.
Members Inspector 71
I use radioshack coily cables but you might just want to wrap a coily cable around a regular cable. That would rawk

Members hotmess
Okay, so from what I've gathered... If you get a coil cable, you get less high but get an invite to Haunting Mids?

Members Reauchambeau
a cable can't add anything, it could attenuate some top and bottom end making it seem like there's more mids.
