Members unit11
I'm trying to learn more about this series of amp, both out of personal interest for myself and buying interest for a buddy. I know off the top of my head that 2203 is 100W, 2204 is 50W... what are other differences, model numbers, features, etc. Thanks.

Members clay_finley
I never hear anything about the 2 channel versions... are they crappy or something? Diode clipping. But they sound good if you know how to work the knobs.
Members jonny toetags
I never hear anything about the 2 channel versions... are they crappy or something? They have clipping diodes or something that gives them more gain, Some purists don't like that. Personally, I like all JCM800s.
Members clay_finley
Also they still made these during the JCM800 era ... 1959: 100w superlead 1987: 50w lead 1992: 100w superbass 1986: 50w bass All the above have 4 inputs. 2203/2204 have two inputs. 2210/2205 have 1 input. Easy to to distinguish from the front panel.
Members unit11
Perhaps I'm just this much more newb than I thought, but I've never heard of the JCM800 Bass or Superbass. Tone difference? Actually for bass, or is it like a bassman and is guitar friendly as well?

They didn't quit making them, they just added the newer models. Yes, very guitar friendly.
Members jetydosa
Ive actually only seen 3 JCM800 4 input heads in my life. They seem to be more rare than the 70s models! I guess the 80s were more MV-friendly.
