Members soiajake
y'know I played my buddies' DSL 2000 yesterday and I've always been a 5150 fan.. but I'm thinking maybe DSL are the better "overall" amp

Members Chrisjd
I would rather have the 5150 II.
Members LIA1
5150 II but isn't that kinda overpriced. I could have sworn that you can get one of those for $600-750.
Members tietjen
I'd chose the DSL if those are my only choices but I'd rather get a good JCM900 for $200 less or a good JMP/JCM 800 for $150 more.

Members gooman
5150 II is a great amp and is becoming more rare, there are people who swear there are differences between it and the 6505 +...I miss mine...

Members meanstreet
5150II. I had a DSL for several years, very good amp. I much prefer both my JSX and 6505+/5150II to it, however that's for the tone I like! I'd suggest trying both out and see which fits YOUR tastes better. Members Norton666
The 5150 II is a one trick pony if ya ask me. It does what it does very very well, but I have yet to hear someone dial in a nice blues tone on a 5150. The DSL is a very good overall amp and I would bet if you have a band with 2 guitarists, one using a DSL and one using a 5150, the DSL will walk all over it. Members toneman123
If i had to choose between those 2, i would get the jcm2000. Ive had the 5150 II and i didnt dig the lead tone. I play mainly 80s rock {censored}, and the 5150 tone sounded like it had a blanket over the cabinent. It could of been the greenbacks i was using i dont know, probally wasnt a good fit for that amp. Ive only played a jcm2000 once but i definalty liked it better than the 5150 from what i could tell, and i was using greenbacks also. Just my opinion though.
