Members bullhead Posted August 25, 2008 Members Share Posted August 25, 2008 Voodoo Amps CP50 formerly a Marshall JCM800 2204. it smokes. in pretty much every way. it looks pretty sweet, cleans up really well, saturates with a tough pick attack, and never loses definition. i cant' even describe how good this thing sounds when you get it even somewhat loud... but the bottom line is i've had a MAJOR GAS attack (for another Voodoo modded Marshall it'll be my fourth) and i'm trying to raise funds. the controls on the back are the send and the mix level for the loop (and a switch from 0db to +20db), global (which controls the midrange focus of the amp), the bottom control, and the "structure" control which makes the CP amps special. it's a 5-way switch which controls the level of gain, and the whole feel of the amp. but again, no matter how much you crank the gain, this thing never loses an ounce of clarity. at a decent volume it's percussive, huge, and feeds back whenever you ask it to. i really can't say enough good about it, but now i've got another amp on the way that i need to pay for. a couple of clips i tossed together in a total of about fifteen minutes, but they give a decent idea of the sound. Second: Voodoo VRock with aldrich mods This is for sale if my Bogner Uber ends up selling (its complicated). It is dead mint (faceplate has smudges from fingerprints, thats it). It is one of the single channels and has been loaded with all of the options by Trace at Voodoo (hes local). It has the Aldrich mod, the brutal/rock mod, and the switchable boost. Loaded with Kt77s, this amp just flat out smokes. With the boost down and in the rock setting, its nice boosted plexi territory (or pure plexi with the gain down). With the brutal switch and boost switch engaged, its an absolute flame thrower. No fx loop. All of the mods and updates run around ~$300 from Voodoo.
