Members thinkpad20
What style of metal? I mean I can't really compare Frank Mullen to Hansi Kursch, but both of them would be in the top 3 depending on the style. But I guess since we're talking about Dio I'll ignore the br00tz: Bruce DickinsonHansi KurschGoeff Tate That's probably where it's at for me. Members thenakedarab
If you're talking pure singing talent, not ability as a lyricist and showman I'd go... Bruce DicknsonRonnie James DioChuck Billy In no particular order. Honorable mentions: Kyle Thomas/Phil Anselmo, Kim Bendix Peterson, Joey Belladonna, Ozzy. If it was based on a whole package thing I'd go with Ozzy though. Also, if you're gonna throw Patton in there then Chris Cornell should get in too, and he'd be top three, so in that case... Members teemuk
If we go with "old school" metal type vocals, not with shreaking and grunting, then shame on you: Eleven posts already and not anyone mentioning Eric Adams. HT1vT31bhKg

Members murch33
Phil Anselmo is an easy #1 for me. Chris Cornell's amazing, but I'm not sure if I'd lump him in as a metal vocalist. I've also got to mention the tag team of Scott Kelly and Steve Von Till. Those guys redefine "heavy".

Members Sheik_Yerbouti
1. Dio2. Bruce Dickinson3. Rob Halford4. Ozzy Osbourne These are the four guys on my Mt. Rushmore of metal singers, and the guys who have had more influence over metal music than everyone else put together over the years. There are some singers I like just as much, but those are the 4 immortal legends in my book.
