Whats a wow button ?

Its a super fast sweep wah, i didnt like it, if you try using it for faster licks it sorta sounds like a cat vomiting.

I just went thru trying every wah i could get my hands on, I tried teh Clyde Deluxe, CryBaby From Hell, Slash, and many others. The one i ended up keeping was the MXR CAE Dual inductor wah, it just sounds sweeter than anything else out there.

Those Wah's are just awesome. I picked one up a few years ago and I think it sounds better then the fulltone.

I sold my Fulltone Clyde Deluxe after getting the Dime wah.

It's not that one is better than the other... I think the Fulltone is better for cleaner, vintage wah sounds whereas the Dime jived better with a dirty amp.

Also (in the event that someone is scared off by the name), the Dime wah isn't as extreme as someone would think. It's a pretty cool, relatively smooth sweeping wah that can be dialled in a bunch of different ways, which I think is a great feature for someone who doesn't really know what they want in a wah sound since it'll allow the pedal to grow with them as they develop their own individual style.

I also have a Wylde and a Cantrell. Out of the three the Cantrell is my favourite, followed by the Dime and Wylde. The Dime has a smoother response, even when on extreme settings. Both the Wylde and Cantrell are 'talkers' in that their sweep range can give the talking guitar effect. The Wylde has the largest sweep range and is the most difficult to use since it goes to such extremes between heel and toe down. The Cantrell is actually kind of similar to the Wylde, only with a narrower sweep that doesn't get as shrill or as bassy as the Wylde. It's a very easy wah to use.

I recommend the Bad Horsie. I bought mine new in the mid 90's and it's the ONLY piece of gear I kept for all these years. Fantastic pedal for leads, super transparent and the auto-on feature allows you to do things that would be very hard with other wahs. Cheap too, but that's just the icing on the cake.

There you go. I have the bad horsie 2. I had the 535q, but there were too many instances where the wah was on when I thought it was off or vice versa.

The Screamin Demon is true bypass, lets you choose how you want to turn the effect on, can be powered by batteries or plug, adjustable Q, adjustable for bass and drop tunings...basically if you want to use it with a high gain rig, it's pretty sick.:thu:

I've never tried using it in a traditional, Hendrix or porno sound way, though, so I'm not sure how effective it is at that.

There is an official 'unofficial' pdf that morley has put out explaining the details. I have it somewhere, just not handy.

That said, the BEST wah tone I've heard has come from some of the models in the crybaby line. However, the best features and function to me are features of the Morley models. I really want a switchless, optical on, analog sweep hybrid between a crybaby and a morley.

Also, the OFFICIAL press release for the Dime Wah states:

" It sounds bad and, with camo graphics, it looks bad."

I use thte Tremonti Wah and really like it.
I do remember reading about the internal pot to change thje sweep but never got round to it ...something i need to do as it is a bit harsh on the full tread.

I recently picked up a used Budda Wah. It's pretty nice, doesn't get shrill and works fine with my rectumfrier.

The Vox ones are similar, I just always seemed to break them?

This. Budda FTW. Just see if you can find one of the original ones instead of the new ones that look like something you could iron your shirts with. :o

I know this is an old thread, but had to throw in my 2 cents. The Dimebag Crybaby From Hell has been my main wah for a few years now and I do like it. I also have a Vox V847, and have tried the Dunlop 535q. After seeing Jeff Beck play through a Snarling Dogs wah a few years ago, I finally got a Whine O Wah to compare. Man the Snarling Dogs took the permanent spot on my board as soon as I tried it. It sounds deep and works killer with distortion. Just sounds much heavier and with better tone than anything I've tried or heard from other players.

I know this is a two year old thread... but why the hell were so many people suggesting the Weeping Demon!? That thing sounds AWFUL AS HELL! I had one and I'm glad the thing was indefinitely borrowed/stolen. Other than the sound, the pedal's casing is utter junk.

Ugh.

As to what I'd suggest, it'd be either a Crybaby or a Morley. 535Q/Dime wah, Bad Horsie 1 or 2, Mark Tremonti, and probably the more pricier options as well, though I haven't had experience with them. Surely people buy them and like them though, otherwise they wouldn't be able to charge the price they charge. I will say though that if you get option anxiety, that a simple wah would be more your thing. And if you hate Crybaby's because they are a pain to turn on/off, I suggest taking off the rubber stoppers under the treadle on either side of the on/off switch.

70's Vox King Wah's my fave. Can still be found cheap too. Not to quaky / 70's porno sounding...not to dark..not too subtle. Just right. Just needs the gear on the pot adjusted right & the front snubbers removed. I can go from Hendrix, to Cantrell, to Woody Weatherman. Good for alot of styles
