Members CrazyandStupid
I got my little vox 15 watt for just over a hundred bucks with an amp stand. My favorite little metal/hardrock amp ever. I've used it to jam with drummers before and it keeps up quite well if they aren't super heavy handed. Not bad for only one 12ax7.

Members akapuli
My Laney LC15R. I got this thing brand new for under $400, a single Celestion 10" speaker, 2 EL84 power tubes, 3 12AX7 preamp tubes, an fx loop and even built-in reverb in a badass, all-tube, lightweight 15 watt combo with an external speaker out that will easily rock the {censored}in' house (trust me on that one!) through a 4x12 cab.Great British tone, excellent 80s metal tones when boosted, it's a seriously fun little amp! +1 My collegue has one, we recorded some serious tones with this little amp. I like the Fender Pro Jr. too.

Members soundgardener75
I got my ss Drive G120VR 2x12 combo (120 watts) for $200 on MF's clearance, it sounded great with my J-Station and I've gotten great compliments on it. For tubes, definitely the VTM 60. Who knew such an ugly single channel amp would be capable of a lot of great tones?

Members NixerX
Hard to beat the peavey's for reliability, tone and price. Classic 30's or 6505 are priced crazy low. Carvins deserve honorable mention , though Im not a fan of the OD channel.

Members Karma1
I like my Super Champ XD upgraded with a Jensen Neo best. I also have a Marshall 8040 (1st generation Valvestate) that I bought used for $140. After dropping in a 12" Avatar Hellatone 30 speaker it sounds surprisingly good.
