Just picked up a Ruger SR1911 last week and it turns out it is probably a best bang for the buck @ $649.00. I was looking to get another Kimber but decided I would rather buy the Ruger and a 1000 rounds of ammo instead of the Kimber and one box of ammo. By the way the Ruger is a keeper for sure!

Anyone have experience with stuff coming out of the Phillipines? Specifically - ATI or RIA? About a month ago I decided to get a compact .45, been looking at what both of these companies are offering. My local FFL guy is pointing me to ATI - because that's what he can get ahold of.

Don't tell me to drop $$$$ on a Kimber. My budget is under $600, and I don't want to get a full size 1911.

Went out today and picked up a Springfield XD9. I had been meaning to get a handgun for a good while but just never acted on it. The wife told me to take money out of saving and go get one this week so I did. Got it for $400 smile.gif I have Hogue Handall grips on the way for it and I will probably upgrade the sights as well. Any suggestions on that?

Shot a year of IDPA with one using the fiber optic front/plain black rear from Dawson, along with a spring kit; nice gun, and Dawson's .100 sights are the business.

Yeah, that's a really nice one. I've got it earmarked as the main finish for a Lee-Enfield custom project that I've had on the backburner since forever... mad.gif

The price gouging/panic buying going on right now is INSANE. I've seen SCARs going for $7,000+. $700 ARs going for over $2K. PMAGS that are normally $12-15 going for over $100. eek.gif

Sick!

I went ahead and fitted an extra extractor while it's all unfinished so I don't have to worry about messing up the finish later.

lol...

Best light in there.

Since those pix were taken I've trued up all the lines and radii. The pistol's looking great. It should look fairly epic once it's all finished.

Here it is as of now...

Looks good!

I don't know why my eye's are drawn to the bushing. I just hate those things for some reason. Meh...weird.

I love my 91/30 and really regret not picking up a m44 when they were super cheap and piled everywhere.

One big tip i found out about the 91/30 is make sure the stock bolt underneath the bolt is tight, dear god did it make a difference in my gun.
