Members Sex Panther
AC/DC vs. VanHalenThe Winnar is..... I love both of them. However, is that a fair comparison? Someone's cheap hand cam audio and video against a fully planned and produced recording? Hardly a real comparison.
Members Sex Panther
The first four albums and the newest one are the only ones I like. BLASPHEMER!!!! How can you not like 1984?!?! Drop Dead Legs, Girl Gone Bad, Hot for Teacher, Panama, House of Pain, Top Jimmy...ugh....

I posted the best I could find. That doesn't matter though, I think comparing the two is like comparing fruits of dissimilar verities.
Members Spaced Out Ace
I don't like VH much as a whole, but I don't dislike them either, and I also appreciate EVH's influence on the guitar playing crowd.
Members tlbonehead
. But His riffs are awesome and still sound great today.agreed. He usually sounds like he can't think of anything to "say" so he just digs into his bag of "stupid guitar tricks".
Members jemmus
Never liked them, not even in high school when the first two albums were just out. It was the vocals and lyrics. Lyrics like written by a 14-year-old party with some partying and women fantasy. Over the top vocals with no taste whatsoever. And then it was Sammy Hagar and it just got worse. ; )I like to listen to Eddie's guitar though. If I could easily take the vocals, bass and drums out and just listen to his techniques, I'd do it. P.S. First time looking at the forums format. Where's my cool avatar with Porter Wagoner in a J. Walter Nudie suit, sweating like a hog?
