A convincing argument that Darwin was right.

Yea, see, that is where Darwin compliments Murphy's law.

Beer, Electric Fryer, Pool, and the general happy life of a goat syndrome all at the same time. Something interesting is fixing on happening here.

Unfortunately the ground fault circuit interrupter required for all outdoor receptacles will prevent these idiots from getting zapped and proving Darwin correct.

You're assuming that the extension cord is plugged in outside. Maybe they have it draped over the power line going to the house, over the roof and in the front window, to an outlet that they know is grounded. You know, all smart-like, 'cause it's got the 3 holes.

Of course, we're all assuming that the extension cord is plugged into something. This could be a hoax that is designed to make these people look stupid, and see how many people they can get on the internet to call them such.

It takes a special kind of stupid to think that getting people to call you stupid on the internet is a good idea. So either way, good call Ohio.

Assuming these guys ever heard of "code". Well, they may have, but felt it was for wimps.

I seem to recall that they've got this going into some fast circuit-breaker. I ain't no electrician, but they definitely seem like candidates for the Darwin Awards.

US electrical code requires any outlets in bathroom, laundry areas, around swimming pool or spas to trip if there is an imbalance of 4 (or is it 6?) mA - that much current indicates a so called "ground fault" and above that level can be harmful or lethal. This can either be in the outlet itself or the circuit breaker protecting it. It is not that they are "fast", just sensitive to very small current imbalance (basically if more current is flowing out than is coming back there must be a leak somewhere, probably flowing through that bozo on the left)

hey, cut these boys some slack-

all part of an elaborate 18th century Philadelphia historical reenactment.

it's attached to a kite they're flying into that thundercloud up there just out of the image frame.

I ask you, why does this look like an ambulance run waiting to happen?

I guess some folks just need a practical education.

:freak:

A close look indicates that there are no less than 5 different beer types on the table. Also don't discount the value of the wood wedge duck taped to the extension chord. This obviously was designed to explode in the event the electrical 15-30 amps charge thru the cable when it drops in the water. Then the explosion of flying wood particles burst the pool and transfers the electricity to travel all over the ground thru the H2O medium...What you can't see are the flip flops the men are wearing to insulate them from the electrified water.

These are indeed clever morons.
