Larry Carlton has been using the same 335 as long as I can remember. And of course the rich and famous live by a different set of rules than us mere mortals. GAS dos not seem to have hurt his musicianship. At a neighborhod sale not long ago, I picked up an old issue of some guitar magazine that had an Op-Ed from him about GAS...even had GAS in the title. pretty funny. It also mentioned (I think I have this right)GMS...guitar modification syndrom. I've got both. The issue was from 1994 or so....before the wide spread of the WWW and Musician's Friend easy on line ordering.

Members GAS Man
I could part with the affinity tele and toss in a standard gig bag, but I'd probably want too much for it to make it worth your while buying from me. I'd probably want most of my investment back on it, but would throw in the shipping and gig bag.But the one I got did end up being a nice looking piece. Not all of them are as "grained' as well as the one they shipped me.I'll have to see how much I paid for it. I think I got it on a pretty good sale price though. Members Hotrod Lincoln
Lemme know and maybe we can do business. One question though, it is top loading or string through? I thought I read that those are top loading, but that look string through to me.

Yeah, it's top loading. One of the reasons (besides having too large of an inventory) that I would consider selling this guitar is because I'd be tempted to buy a new bridge (or maybe just drill the existing one and add ferules to the back) and change out the pickups. When the guitar arrived it sounded a bit too tinny. So I changed the strings to some ghs Eric Johnson strings (10s) that are roller wound (slightly flattened wrappings) and pure nickel wrap. Then that took the tone a bit too far in the other direction. A little too dull for a tele. The next stringing with be sticking with 10s but tring nickel plated instead. And then I'm also thinking of something like a Duncan Alnico II in the neck and a Ducan STL2 hot lead in the bridge. And then of course, I'd have far more $ into it than a Squier's street value. But it might be pretty sweet by then.
Members jdjonsson
I like buying other people's stock pickups off eBay rather than going straight to the expensive replacements. I have some nice Alnico Fender Tele pickups that came out of a Classic '50's Tele in my Affinity Special. They sound great, and I think I paid $30-35 for them. In some ways, I'm still a "noob" in some of my guitar dealings. I still haven't even got myself set up on ebay yet. But that could just make the GAS worse! I'm probably going to sell the Agile and SX guitars....except for the "Floyd" 2500 Agile and the Carlo Robelli Strat. The Carlo Robelli guitars were freebees from Sam Ash.Check out my Frankenstein Carlo Robelli "Strat" since I did some changes to the SSS p/u arrangement and just did the Duncan w/ push/pull volume pot (splits coil) and added a Roland Synth p/u.I re-named it...."Luigi Guitar". I've tried the 12 step program, but that only ends me up with twelve new pieces of gear. Should I try hookers? Try controlling yourself.
