Members Muddslide
Man, it depends so much on the guitar itself--overall body style, etc. I tend to think bursts look sharp on LPs, but like paint finishes on strats. Teles I like natural or painted. That said, I see a ot lof bursts on teles and strats that do look sharp. {censored}, I don't know. What was the question? Members warriorpoet
Well, now that I think about it, it depends on the 'git. Some examples: solid (GoldTop is in a different category altogether, IMO) Translucent: Burst: I couldn't imagine liking any of them as much in a different finish. Members Brewski
Translucent, Flame or Quit No Solid - I've seen too many solid color guitars be plywood when you take the paint off - inclduing Ibanez and Fenders!! No Bursts!
Members Cooley
I love the way solids look after being played forever and they show the scars of playing better But bursts look much better new... but all in all...Im solid
Members Burningleaves
I like being able to see what kind of wood I am actually paying for so it's mainly bursts, nat, trans for me.

Members dcindc
As a rule, I don't like bursts, but I bought this one, and I love it!I'd like to have a good blonde translucent, but not yet.
Members kanamvar32
depends on the guitar model and wood. i love 3tone burst strats but also love solid white ones. translucent colors are great on ash and other woods.
Members Ozark
I prefer bursts like Tobacco, dark, desert, violin finish. I also prefer flame over quilt.
Members Quarter
Depends on the guitar, but a tasteful burst is always nice.
Members Berndt111
Depends on the guitar : Solid color for strats, Burst for 335, transluscent for nice woods. I also hate quilt and the flame I like are the ones that are subtle but full. I saw on this board a pic from a member (gadzooka, I think) who got a yamaha semi from e-bay and I thought it looked as good as it gets : nice color burst and just the right flame. Members recordingtrack1
I never really though about it that much but now that you mention it, I have three electric guitars, two of which are sunburst, the other is translucent quilt. I have five acoustics, two of which are sunburst and a mandolin that is Sunburst. The rest of my acoustics are blond and my bass is solid. Mainly I want them to sound good, then look good.
