Members ArKay
I had been trying to get ahold of this model for more than a year, got the SGV-300 last year and found it on eBay Germany during my stay in China. It's a little more polised than the 300, has a bound fretboard & headstock, Sperzel locking tuners, a nicer neck and 2 P90-style pickups. And it has a very nice sparkle finish! Members ArKay
2nd is a Cheri strat. I think that those Korean guitars were only available in Europe (or even Germany). It's from 1993 and I heard good stuff about them so I couldn't resist. The company had to change its name a couple of times (Chevy/Chery/Cheri). Those ST-M strats are really nice guitars and can be had for small money here. Good craftmanship, no sharp fret ends, the guitar is even painted under the pickguard and vibrato cover. And it has a maple body which for me is a first. Also note the neck tilt adjustment screw at the neck plate. I've never seen a Cheri before, the string trees look cool, are those special pup's on just cover on there?

I've never seen a Cheri before, the string trees look cool, are those special pup's on just cover on there? Those are the stock pickups. They are a little noisy and have pretty low output. I will probably replace them, or maybe not

Members Burningleaves
:cop:Nice Yamaha! Alot of people claim the [blue] Yamaha with those pups can nail the Mosrite surf tones of old. Of course you need the amp and reverb to go with it.

Members Highway_61
Does SGV stand for Surf Guitar Vibrato? Or am I overthinking this? You say that you don't care for the trem. Is it possible to block it?
Members ArKay
Does SGV stand for Surf Guitar Vibrato? Or am I overthinking this? You say that you don't care for the trem. Is it possible to block it? It's based on a model from 1966, back then simply called SG by Yamaha which probably stood for Surf Guitar, but I dunno. The vibrato can be blocked. Simply not using it works, too though
Members Dudleyjackson
Nice pair, I had a Cheri Telecaster - it was a lemon, but, I knew as it was half price [
Members ArKay
^^^ They had different series. The ST-M strats are pretty nice, they even had a solid ash model (ST-M Vintage). They also had a Basic series which was pretty low-end.
