Members fluff
Hey y'all. Does anyone one know what guitar is Noel is playing here? I love the sound, It looks like an Epiphone Casino or Sheraton? Whatever it is I'm getting one. Can anyone help?
Members EllenGtrGrl
I'm not 100% sure, but I glimpsed humbuckers on the guitar. I think it may be the Epiphone, Noel Gallagher Supernova model. Here's what it looks like: http://www.imuso.co.uk/directory/reviews/electric-guitar-reviews/epiphone-noel-gallagher-supernova.htm

Just the fact he's playing the lead channel on a Marshall makes me think it may be a Sheraton.
Members fluff
I've taken some screens caps from the youtube vid... Any ideas? CASINO SHERATONE Definitely looks more like the Sheratone with the humbuckers and bridge. But the head, scratchplate and hardware color look like the Casino. Members Brewski
Does it really matter? it's a semi-hollow body with bridge/neck pickups and that's all you need to know. he happens to have Epiphone versions - which are TABOO to Gibson snorkelers! Suggest you find out what pups he's using and put them on the Epi of your choice and you can nail his tone. BTW - why does anyone want to sound like someone else? It never makes any sense to me! Members MattH
It's a rare Epiphone Riviera. The type that Noel used are called Matsumoko Rivieras. They were made in Japan from 1978 to 1983. There's one going on Ebay here - http://tinyurl.com/6eaw7p
Members 23miles
Epiphone Riviera? Which is essentially what the Supernova is.

Don't necessarily want to sound like him. I was first after an Casino but heard that it isn't too hot for heavy distortion (ie the lead channel on my tsl100). Then I see Noel playing some sort of epi (which I now know is the riviera ) exactly that way. Job's a gudden'!
Members Musicscotty
Glad you got that sorted Fluff. Nice to hear that song again as well. I sometimes forget just how much impact Oasis had on the UK music scene with their first 2 albums. Excellent version of the song as well Cool avatar btw. Yeah that version of Supersonic just sounds massive, and Liam was in his singing prime. I've made an offer for the Riviera on Ebay MattH posted, so lets hope he accepts... Members jtr654
Yes it is a MIK modeled after the original Riviera that Gibson made in the 60's except with full size humbucker.

Members crofty9
I was a huge Oasis fan...and still am. Pretty sure Noel's Supernova model is based on his Riviera which he often plays live...

Possibly, I've read his original custom painted guitar was a Sheratone. I don't think the supernova is for me though, I'm not a fan of the union jack paintwork and I cant have the Man City blue one because I'm United till I die! The fella on Ebay still hasn't replied to my offer, probably waiting to see If he gets anything better. Fingers crossed I get it!
