favourite position on 5 way strat

What is your favourite position on your strat?

 

I'll start...

At the moment im really enjoying my middle position... lots of punch for higher gain stuff while still retaining sharp clarity for clean

I have a use for just about all of them. I tend to hang between the 1, 2, and 3 though.

1 or 2 the most. 3 occasionally. 5 also but 4 almost never.

5, 3, and 4 (in that order), then 2. Never 1 if it's a single coil. That's why I'm a fat strat guy

I like most of them really.

 

1 for Mellower stuff like love songs' chords or bluesy stuff, 5 for sharp spanking energetic funk, 3 for any time I feel 1 is too mellow and 4 for some proper funkididdly.

Neck+ middle in series, and neck+bridge in series. No need for humbuckers.

not too big a fan of the 5th position. My strat has the s1 thingy which a lot of ppl shoot down. i dont really use but u can get a very groovy hot rod strat sound from the 2nd position (HB and Middle SC running parallel) nice SRV sound.

I go 1 or 2 almost exclusively...at times I'll drop it to 3

 

I have other guitars I go to for teh brootalz (did I say that correctly?) or anything gainy and I've never bonded with SC bridge pups other than on a tele...so 4 and 5 get very very little love

On an SSS Strat, I like to spend time on the middle or neck pickups. On an HSS Strat, I spend a lot of time on the bridge. I like to play on the 2 and 4 positions on an SSS, but hardly ever on an HSS.

Using 1 as neck and 5 and bridge....

 

I use 4 a lot for rhythm playing. Then 1, 2, and 3 in that order. I pretty much never use the bridge alone and rarely the middle....

Where's the love for position 4? "Riviera Paradise", "Little Wing", "Lenny", any kind of funk, etc., position 4 was like one of the main reasons I wanted a Strat!

 

I use 1 & 4 the most, followed by 2, 5 & 3 (rarely) in that order.

I'm pretty much stuck on the middle pickup. It sounds good with my DRRI, whether I'm playing clean or overdriven. Nice bright, punchy sound.
