Members Bucksstudent
Carlton most likely did not use a Dumble on "Josie," and Walter Becker played the lead on that song. Carlton was using a Tweed Deluxe in the studio in those days.

Members wankdeplank
Yeah, I question that one as well back in the 70's.
Members wankdeplank
Kinda surprised there wasn't something about Santana and the splash he made with his original Mesa Boogie. That amp was pretty revolutionary at the time. PS Like to see something on "ten classic guitars and the songs that made them famous".
Members DeepEnd
. . . PS Like to see something on "ten classic guitars and the songs that made them famous". The closest I found was "Top 10 Most Famous Guitars" on Ultimate-Guitar.com: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/...s_guitars.html. And "Five Iconic Guitars And The Musicians That Made Them Famous": https://thrivewire.com/stories/five-iconic-guitars-and-the-musicians-that-made-them-famous. And here's Part 2 of the Amps list: http://www.myrareguitars.com/10-classic-guitar-amps-pt2. Kinda cool that there are two SS amps this time around. Members wankdeplank
Cool, thx for that D.E. I guess I was mistaken to think that the sound of the guitar was as important as the sound of the amp. Dug part deux of the amp list but WTF?? still no mention of Santana and his Mesa Boogie. (Wasn't Mesa the first with the two channel amp?) Of all the amps listed only the Eighty-Five noticeably sucked IMO - Creep would've sounded much better with tube crunch I believe. Always dug the sound of Credence and their SS Customs for that signature CCR tone though. Oh yeah, thx a lot, now I've got a vintage Standell and a Hiwatt on my GAS list. This is really interesting for Steely Dan fans... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QA9ydTb_bM
Members wankdeplank
Yeah, in my dreams...well I guess if I moved my vintage Magnatone, Fender Jr and Mesa Heartbreaker (Backbreaker) - yeah that's gonna happen.

Members gdsmithtx
I've watched that on Netflix like 4 times. My favorite parts are Purdy Shuffle bit and Donald/Walter at the mixing board. The Dan have been my favorite band since I was 10 in 1974, and I'm going to see them for the 6th time in 2 weeks here in Houston (along with some bespectacled British dude named Elvis).
