Members ArmyGuitar
So I have been GASn for a Strat, and at the same time I noticed I dont have a red guitar. So with that said, is CAR similiar to a metallic finish? And I would want to make it unique, so how would a red mirrored PG look with white accesories? Or what would recommend other than a white PG? Members datru
I changed my plain white out for a pearl white: I really like the white against the red though, plain or pearl.
Members brianeharmonjr
Candy Apple Red is, in fact, metallic. The pearloid isn't bad, but I don't personally really like anything but bright white, mint, or anodized gold.

Seeing this pic makes me think red mirrored would look cool, since it is metallic like.

Members cratz2
Yeah... mint guard with cream plastics would be the direction I'd go. no pearl or tort or gold pickguards for me. give me white or maybe mint green on a CAR strat.
Members cratz2
I had this one a while back... by far the worst guitar I've ever owned, but it looked like a million bucks!

Members Flatspotter
Candy Apple Red is, in fact, metallic. The pearloid isn't bad, but I don't personally really like anything but bright white, mint, or anodized gold. To me, anodized gold looks like someone forgot to peel off the protective brown paper on the pickguard.

Members Floyd Rosenbomb
I had this one a while back... by far the worst guitar I've ever owned, but it looked like a million bucks! This is my choice too, single ply white guard with cream knobs and pickup covers.

Members bsman
I've gotta say my preference would be for the black or pearloid (what about black pearl?) . Not too crazy about the mint green or anodized look on that particular color... I'd like to see one w/a tortoiseshell - could look great or terrible... Members ArmyGuitar
I guess thinking red mirrored is just the rocker in me, but black was and probably still is my first choice. But the Red Tortoiseshell recommended from GFS might look cool too. The picture kinda makes it look like red/black cork splash.
Members McCain
' alt='>'> Guard doesn't fit this Fernandes retro-rocket but will give some idea of what it looks like. Looks good in person but crappy in these pics...it doesn't even look like CAR. Think the red mirror would look pretty good also.
