Yeah, it seems like they are great for that feedback/distortion tone like Lennon had going on Revolution, but I've yet to find another tone out of mine that I particularly love. But then again, I'm no Pro and I haven't spent enough time with mine, OTOH, a lot of my other guitars haven't made loving them quite as challenging as Ms. Casino has.

Plug it into an ac-30

Wasnt that impressed with the Made in China versions I tried. I guess the one with Gibson pickups sounded slightly better but they all felt kind cheap to me. The Elitist felt a lot more solid but overall Im not sure I dig the whole hollowbody vibe. It felt like I was playing an acoustic. Id probably like a semi-hollow better for the more solid attack.

The difference is nobody wants an ES-330. They have come and gone from the Gibson line-up several times because they don't sell. People who want a Casino want a Casino not an ES-330.

A good Casino is a joy to behold. They're beautiful to look at, sing like a bird and feel so good when you hold them. I wouldn't trade my Casino for anything with Gibson on the headstock.

That's basically where I am with them and I do own "The Elitist" version.

I'm at work now (sshhh) but I'll watch the attached vids later tonight. wink.gif

Yeah, I'd like to try mine through a Vox AC30. I've got a Vox AD60VTX (blue cloth) at home, so I'll have to content myself with its modeling of the AC30/AC30TB

If the insinuation is that this is a bad thing, fwiw it hasn't been problematic for me. And my main band plays with distortion 24/7 and a pretty decent amount of volume. Some care has to be taken, but nothing that would impede anything.

I do love both my casinos. There really is nothing like them. The upper fret access is the only real bummer with them, but there's a lot of great leads to be played below the 16th or 17th fret!

The feedback thing? Yeah they're more prone to feedback but unless you're playing a really small stage right in front of your amp at stupid volumes, it's not an issue and I have to chalk it up to user error.

People who buy a Casino can't afford an ES-330.
I wouldn't trade my Casino for an ES-330 evem if they threw in some cash.

I'm so sick of that arguement. Just because someone chooses not to by a Gibson doesn't mean they can't afford one,

Of course not. But at three grand, ES-330s are exorbitantly expensive, so most of us get the closest thing that we can actually afford.

You might turn your nose up at an ES-330 for $600, but I doubt that you're typical.
