Members Reitzas
(In my best Andy Rooney voice) Did you ever notice that everytime on television or in the movies when there's a shot of someone talking into a microphone on stage, there's always a little feedback as part of the audio? Is this from the Mandatory Sweetening 101 manual or is it just art imitating life? Dave Reitzas www.reitzas.com
Moderators Lee Knight Posted March 30, 2006 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2006 Did you ever notice when Starsky and Hutch peeled out from a dirt parking lot the tires screeched like it was pavement and then they shifted through the four gears but their car was an automatic? Unfortunately, since 90% of public address systems are run by amateurs, this turns out to be art imitating life. I hear it all the time.

Members paulskirocks
i remember some b-rated movie where the power boat made squealing tire noises as the bad guys got away... here's one... how come the six million dollar man was able to stand on the ground and hold a helecopter from flying away?! his feet were not hooked to anything! also, did you ever wonder why his bionic arm didn't just rip off his body, even if his feet were glued to the ground? and finally, why do some women have to put on makeup before they do aerobics? His super human toe strength was actually gripping the asphalt right through his brown leather shoes. And...as if you didn't know, his bionic arm was strong in both directions. So his toes grasped the ground while his arm not only held the heli but held firmly to his shoulder joint. Duh! You were kidding... right?

Members UstadKhanAli
The Six Million Dollar Man.... A tree was falling on top of him, but he managed to bat it away. Awesome. His spine wasn't crushed, and he wasn't smashed into the ground!! Although having only one bionic arm, he can pull really hard on handcuffs, breaking them. I'm willing to cut The Six Million Dollar Man a break, though. Any show that has Bigfoot as a bionic alien creature is okay in my book.

One Bionic arm? No bionic toes? Opps. I never saw the show so I must admit my post above was a fabrication and pure fiction. I'm sorry to spread disinformation. I'm sorry... When they rebuilt him, they used unobtainium-237 for his mechnical support structure. Members elsongs
Oh! How 'bout when in TV or movies when people type at a computer, they verbally speak the words they type? When's the last time you've done that?
Members blackpig
Why do computers, especially in 80s movies, make sort of R2D2 bleeping noises when information comes up on the screen? I only bought my first pc because it would make cool noises like that.
Members UstadKhanAli
If a martial arts expert is confronted by multiple opponents, only one will attack while everyone else dances around in a threatening manner until that person is dispatched...and so on. Members Anderton
Cool thread idea, actually! I think it's that they're trying to give "cues" to set the stage. If you PROMISE not to tell anyone, I added crowd noise to the narrated Harmony Central videos. It just sounded way too weird that most of the videos had crowd noise and the narrated ones didn't. But please, don't tell anyone. I want to maintain the illusion Next time I'll add in feedback, too
