  1. That is certainly a difficult situation. Try using an online facility like google translate [there are better ones, but typically one language specific]. With all the work you have done, why not just record the tracks the way you want, and forget about this guy the singer wants, and get things done? You said you had done sample tracks with the rest of the band...forget what the singer wants. Singers should never run a band anyway, IMHO, unless they are either well trained, multi-instrumentalists or phenomonally naturally gifted and serious. Your singer sounds like a real jerk, too.
  2. yeah, good luck on the DNA thing...there is no record of the PMC EVER being upheld in a court ruling to my knowledge. A violator isn't going to bother trying to fake oyur PMC...why bother? If there is no filed copyright, then they could just write out or record the song and register it and your PMC is worthless.
  3. I have not seen a soldered speaker terminal in many years...way too labor intensive. Also, make sure you make note of which lug goes on the [+] and which lug goes on the [-] of the speaker! Some cabinets require a nut driver rather than a screw driver.
  4. mb, have you actually done an a-b test between the blue and the greenback? Obviously not...or you would not have made the above statement.
  5. First, you are putting lipstick on a pig...your amp is not worth upgrading. You bought an inexpensive solid state modeling practice amp. That is what it is. If the sound of the amp isn't right, don't blame the speaker. You bought it with that speaker, so if the speaker is broken in correctly, it should be the optimum speaker based on the Fender engineer's thinking. [j/k] The limited tone of your amp is far more likely due to the design of the amp itself, not the speaker [is that the Fender Design Eminence 12' 8ohm?] Yes, Celestion makes great speakers, but they are not the only ones...ElectroVoice, Jensen, Eminence, JBL, Weber, Tone Tubby, Fane...
  6. nonsense....I have a Celestion Goldback in one of my Blues Juniors and it sounds great...
  7. Tanks are relatively cheap, but if your amp's reverb is driven by [part of] one of the pre-amp tubes, it could be the pre-amp tube...or if you have the footswitch, that could be the problem as well. I'm not familiar enough with the Laney Fusion line to tell you much more [witout a schematic], but I would check those possibilities first.
  8. it is Line 6...not a real amp, but an incredible simulation...
  9. I usually run my acoustic to the PA through a passive DI [and a BodyRez pedal] if I am doing both acoustic and electric. I am toying with starting a song out on acoustic, looping it with the Ditto, and then switching to electric...
  10. I'm with Shaster. Maybe there is an amp that may sound good for both...but I have yet to find one. About the closest I came was using the 'acoustisonic' setting on my SCXD, and that was, well, not spectacular, but passable...barely.
  11. FYI, eWiz hasn't posted in over a year and a half...
  12. a rabbit hole you don't want to fall into, Alice....
  13. That makes you a collector, Notes! Interesting, but not what I consider totally comprehensive, survey. Completely overlooked all my PA gear...!! Mics, speakers, mixer boards, outboard fx...a whole related but overlooked aspect of G.A.S. for many of us...
  14. $300 is a tough price point, but the used market has potential. I recommend you take a look at Reverb.com to get a feel for what may fall in that range. I see bolt-neck Asian Gretsch guitars in/under that range frequently. Another option is Hondo Music...
  15. The new Epiphones are made in China, Viet Nam and Indonesia, but they used to be made by Samick in Korea.
  16. but pricey...I mean, he was going to buy a used Dot... Better to look at Artcores, Deans, Corts, Agile...
  17. It would help to know your budget and preferences. That Dot, well, the crack could just be from when they screwed the strap pin in,and could just be the finish, but...why buy someone else's problem? Dots are so inexpensive, why would you buy used? For that matter, the Dot is the bottom of their semi-hollow line, and although they look nice, tend to need to be heavily modified to be really playable. If you like the looks, spend the extra $ and get a Sheraton, or a Casino, Riviera or even a Wild Kat.
  18. My cousin used Empire One in Manila, but he was just getting a re-tube/bias...if you are not on Luzon [and preferably in Manila/Quezon City], you may be having some issues finding a good tech...try asking at the local music stores.
  19. The accordian has been much maligned, but it has its place in many styles of music, even backing Vince Gill! check at ~2:35...but really the whole vid is worth watching! [video=youtube;UnhhG7F-7ow]
  20. youth is wasted on the young...amazing though, how much bad info there is on the internet regarding this kind of thing, hence my efforts here to get them clarified and creating the stickies that now adorn the top of the forum.
  21. Thanks for the info, although this discussion ended over a decade ago, amigo...
  22. Sorry, Kid, the ruling goes with Moody...published is only in reference to the actual release date [publication] of a recording, has nothing to do with a publisher, per se.
