Members mcinku
OK some more things has been done... Tricky thing, I'm just glad I have a carpenter as a friend Cutting... Some more cutting... Sending process... I decided to add those brass rods to increase the mass of the neck. In my experience neck mass makes all the difference when you want to have sustain. Members atrox
interesting with the brass rods. Hopefully you won't get too neck heavy
Members mcinku
interesting with the brass rods. Hopefully you won't get too neck heavy Not a chance, that ash body is heavy as hell I have the same thing done for my custom ZN tele and it works well. Overall guitar has to be heavy but that's just what I like. Somehow heavy is something I tend to like more than a light guitar... tone wise I mean. Just think of those heavy vintage teles, strats and LPs. Maybe it's just me but if it works it works.

My ash Strat is stupid light and it doesn't get played much because of it. Honestly, most vintage instruments sound like shit and are put together like shit. haha... but I know what you mean. Members mcinku
Not a lot of progress but I have a good excuse... I just brought a new family member home. 51cm, 3.6kg and hers name is Anja and she's beautiful.
Members mcinku
Anyway I did snatch a few minutes and did some work... fretboard glued... you really need to be a pro to be able to do this right. making 9.5" radius... Did I say that I'm glad to have a carpenter for a friend. That was some precision sending and my radius is perfect.
Members mcinku
...and now really tough part, making a proper neck shape. I will have to do this alone but before I start, I made a little template. I really like the neck shape of my Strat Plus so I will try to copy it... I used some putty and it worked quite well. Unfortunately you will have to wait for new progress photos. Currently I have other priorities in my life.
Members dcindc
Took me a while to get the template putty thing... Find a template tool. Looks like lots of metal rods side be side. press it against something and forms to the shape and keeps it. HNGD!
