Members Shenaniganizer
Hmmm.. Does the "quack" have something to do with the position of the pickup itself, more than the actual pickup itself? I know that positions of pickups according to how close they are to the bridge or neck can have a rather large effect on tone.Do you think you can get a quack-ish tone between a single coil bridge, and single coil neck? Members Unclemeat
I like to use the neck and middle together for the quacky funky sound. I also use it in conjunction with a bridge bucker, to reduce gain and clean up the signal.
Members twofoolsaminute
I use it to store my screws during repairs. The magnet holds them nicely.
Members wagdog
I, like most strat players, combine it w/the neck and bridge for that heavenly strat quack. However it does sound pretty good on its own, especially with some gain and the tone rolled back.

Members ido1957
Eric Clapton and Tom Principato both use the middle pickup alone for soloing... This .... I have an EC Strat and this is what I use for soloing - with the special "tone" knob turned up for compression/sustain.
Members GodBlessTexas
I don't use mine for much of anything since I don't play funk. I use the neck for soloing and the bridge for everything else. I'd use it more if my style of play were more diverse I suppose.

Members metallica_00
Occasionally for soloing with moderate gain when I don't want the signature "clankiness" (i mean it in a good way) of the neck pickup but still don't want much bite either. Definitely my least used position.
Members Blahbbs
I don't usually use it by itself, but using the middle with the neck pup is easily the most common position I use. With a lighter touch it makes a nice smooth sound for rhythm, but if I dig in, I get a nice quack. For solos, I might go to the neck pup by itself or to the middle-bridge position. ..but I suck, so it doesn't really matter.

Members Alecto
I use it all the time, either with all the other pickups or by itself for funk rhythms and a scooped mid tone for soloing.
Members LowYaw
i used to switch to it when parts, initially written with neck pick up in mind, did not cut enough. it happens live, mostly thythm stuff. clean, i liked it also for certain arpeggios and chording - a tighter, a little bit flat but still very mix-friendly tone. Members *BLEEP*
What do you use your middle pickup for, on your strat? I use my middle pickup, along with either the neck or bridge pickup, to communicate with ducks.
