Members ~GOD~
Wow,really? I had a hell of a time getting the speed knobs off my guitar. i've had to use pliers to take the top hats off my strat the last few times. i can't get under the edges and i can't grip the reverse taper. Members csm
Witch hats belong on the front panels of Fender amps. Not on guitars of any sort. Mind you -- Muddy Waters disagreed.

Members Fireproof777
Speed knobs for me, but it's really a toss up...I guess some guitars look better with one or the other
Members Citizen Cain
I used to be a big speed knob fan, but the last few guitars I did I went with these. I just call them reflectors.
Members Rich4Once
On my Epi gold top, it came with those top hat things...the ones without the metal on them. http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p146/one4rich/Gear%20Pics/?action=view¤t=PDRM0080.jpg I hate them so much! They're slippery, and are nearly impossible for me to use. If my hands are sweaty, it's even worse. I took them off, and put speed knobs on...they're perfect. http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p146/one4rich/Gear%20Pics/?action=view¤t=LP2.jpg

Members Rich4Once
Speed knobs work better, but witch-hats look better. Well, that should make speed knobs a no-brainer, right? Oh, wait...this is HCEG. Never mind.

Unless it's completely jammed down to the pickguard you can usually get the edge of a t-shirt or something under there, wrap it around and pop it off. I've even cut a plastic gatorade lid with a notched 'v' that works really well for knobs. Pliers will mangle those suckers up.
Members Electric Monk
To play metal music, you need metal knobs. Thus, witch hats.

Members Flatspotter
I went with none of the above. And I think witch hats should be called pilgrim hats. Or Ritchie Blackmore hats.
