Members Into Nation
From a Hamer GT Indonesian build. Interwebs were not clear on even if it had a cap, but it looks like it does. Think this is maple?
Members Wyatt
Hard to guess from that, I would say maple, and that dark line on top is probably the same flame veneer they use from their transparent/burst finishes. My guess is they just paint the gold over the same body they use for their other archtops.
Members Into Nation
I don't know much about what grain would look like, I was thinking maple or maybe alder just based on coloring. The guitar does have some heft to it.
Members Cobalt Blue
Sidenote: when I first read the thread title, I thought it said "what kind of crap does this look like?"
Members Into Nation
That would be Indonesian crap... Actually it's a pretty nice guitar.
Members Brewski
not quite enough wood to assess the grain on top. i would say its maple with veneer top and like the other person stated - painted horrible gold on top.
Members Into Nation
The paint is really not bad, there is some creasing but it's minimal.

Members Into Nation
Oh okay. I don't much care for a rotted wood top myself...
Members Beckman
I think it looks like maple. Just because it looks like the grain on the neck on my maple necks. But, who can really say with those pictures.
Members Brewski
How does it sound? What pups r in it? is there any chance you can repaint it a better color
Members Quarter
Hard to say for sure, but I would not bet against maple. The flecks in the grain look very much like maple on the quarter.
Members Into Nation
How does it sound? What pups r in it? is there any chance you can repaint it a better color Sounds like P90's, the stock ones that it came with. I guess I'm not too particular as every P90 I've ever played I liked. Gonna skip a repaint job for now. The frets are really nice, no buzzing no sharp edges etc. The neck feels exactly like the PRS fat/wide profile. These were in the deals thread from worldmusicsupply. They had a bunch selling for $189, but some people got them even cheaper.
Members Belva
If you need a "wood" expert find a hooker.:poke:SRS you'd need to remove some paint to really tell.
Members i386
Looks like maple and mahogany to me.
Members Into Nation
I put some fresh strings on and it now has a lot more 'snap' on the low E. I'm no expert, but that's one thing I've noticed with maple vs. mahog or alder. Looks like maple, sounds like it - so I'm going with maple. Also (for anyone that bought one of these) the stock strings were 10's - I used a micrometer, but man they were stiff. I put Elixirs on and it now feels like 10's. But, I'm getting some buzz. Might need a truss tweak, but I'm going to wait a day.
Members Belva
Tis a cool guitar. The Indonesian Hamers are way under rated. Just can't get better quality at this price point.

Members Dale2
I think it is maple. I have the sunburst archtop P-90 version. I too think they paint the same body gold.
